Frequently asked questions

Everything about buying, locking prices, delivery and selling on SpotBazaar — in plain language.

Buying

Do I need an account to buy?

No. Browsing, watching live prices and locking a price need no account at all. You only share your name, phone and delivery address at checkout so the courier can deliver your order.

How do I buy something?

Open a product from the storefront, watch the live price on its terminal, and when the market dips the LOCK PRICE ON COD button activates. Press it, then place your cash-on-delivery order within the 10-minute freeze.

What does locking a price mean?

Locking freezes the current dipped price just for you for 10 minutes. Even if the market price jumps back up during those 10 minutes, you still pay the frozen price. Locking is completely free.

Why is the lock button sometimes greyed out?

The lock only arms when the market genuinely dips: the price must fall below the session's opening price by a set margin and a minimum number of price sources must be falling together. This stops fake dips. Watch the arming checklist on the product terminal — it shows live how close the market is.

What if the price drops further after I lock?

You win again. At checkout we check the live market one more time — if the current lowest price is below your locked price, your order is automatically billed at the new lower price. You never pay more than the market's best.

What happens if my 10 minutes run out?

The lock expires and the reserved units go back to the market. You can lock again the next time the lock engine arms, subject to your daily lock limit.

Is there a limit on how many locks I can make?

Yes — each phone number gets a small number of locks per day so everyone gets a fair chance. Locks that end in completed orders never count against you; repeated locking without buying does, and abuse leads to suspension.

Why do you ask for my phone at checkout?

We verify your phone with a one-time code so vendors know the order is real, and so the courier can reach you. Your full number is never shown publicly.

Prices

Where do the prices come from?

From real Pakistani sources: retailers, marketplaces, distributors and brand stores, plus live quotes posted by identity-verified vendors on SpotBazaar. Our collector reads live product pages around the clock and refreshes prices automatically.

Are the prices real?

Yes. Prices marked as live page reads are collected from actual product pages on authentic Pakistani stores. Vendor quotes are real binding offers — the vendor must honour them, backed by their deposit.

Why does the price keep changing?

Because it is a live market. When sources and vendors update their prices, the market price moves — sometimes every few seconds. That movement is exactly what lets you catch a dip.

What is the difference between base price and live ask?

The base price is the product's reference value from the middle of current market readings. The live ask is the best price the market is offering right now. You always pay the live ask — or lower if you locked on a dip.

What does it mean when trading is halted on a product?

If a price crashes suspiciously — far below its recent average — our circuit breaker pauses that product automatically until an admin reviews it. This protects you from wrong listings and pricing errors.

Payment and delivery

How do I pay?

Cash on delivery only. You pay the courier when the product arrives at your door. There is no online payment, no card, and no advance.

How much is delivery?

A flat delivery fee is added at checkout and shown clearly on your invoice before you confirm — the invoice tells you the exact total cash to keep ready.

Where do you deliver?

Anywhere in Pakistan. At checkout you drop a pin on the map (or type your address), and the order is dispatched through tracked couriers. The delivery location must be within Pakistan.

Can I track my order?

Yes. After checkout you receive an order reference and courier tracking status on your confirmation screen.

Selling

Who can sell on SpotBazaar?

Anyone who passes verification: identity documents, a confirmed phone and WhatsApp number, and a refundable Rs 1,000 deposit. An admin reviews everything before your first listing goes live.

How much commission do you take?

Zero. 0% commission on every sale, on every plan. The platform earns only from optional monthly seller subscriptions — what you sell for is what you keep.

What are the seller plans?

Starter is free forever (5 listings, 20 locks a month). Pro Seller is Rs 4,999 a month (50 listings, 200 locks, faster payout, verified badge). Power House is Rs 14,999 a month (unlimited everything, 24-hour payout, CSV and API tools). Paid plans start with a 14-day free trial.

What is the deposit for?

Your Rs 1,000 deposit backs your commitments. A small hold is placed per listing and per locked order so buyers know your prices are real. It is released when orders complete, and refunded if you leave in good standing.

How do I know what buyers want?

Check the Buyers Looking For board in the top menu. Buyers post the product, quantity and price they hope to pay. Verified vendors see the buyer's contact details and can list exactly what is in demand.

When do I get paid?

When the buyer pays the courier and the order completes, your payout is scheduled according to your plan — 7 days on Starter, 3 days on Pro Seller, 24 hours on Power House.

Trust and safety

How do I know the vendor will actually deliver?

Three ways: vendors are identity-verified before listing, their deposit backs every locked order, and their trust score is shown on the price board. Vendors who fail to ship lose their deposit and their account.

What if I refuse a genuine order at the door?

Couriers report refusals and failed deliveries. Each one adds a strike to your phone number, and repeated strikes suspend your locking ability. Please only lock when you intend to buy.

Is my personal information safe?

Yes. Your delivery details are used only to fulfil your order. Phone numbers are masked everywhere public, and buyer requirement posts show contact details only to identity-verified vendors.
